The Real Estate Agents Authority has changed its name to the Real Estate Authority – dropping ‘Agents’ from its name. The change has been driven by consumer and industry research which found there was confusion about the organisation’s role and a desire to reinforce that they’re an independent regulator.
The Real Estate Authority has also launched a new website. This website includes loads of information on buying and selling a home and includes a section that deals with problematic building materials, specifically listing – Dux Quest, Weatherside and Asbestos. It’s worth being familiar with the information on this website as it will be where home buyers (especially first home buyers) will be going to inform themselves about the process and potential issues they should be aware of.
